SLAT commitment to climate includes public transport

SLAT favores public transportationThe city of Lyon just launched its “Destinations 2026” plan, which aims to accelerate the energy transition of its territory. The Lyon transport authority, called SYTRAL, will invest 2.55 billion and provide alternatives to car commuting, in order to fight effectively against air pollution and carbon emissions. The Lyon metropolitan area announces the extension of its tramway network with 4 new lines and the replacement of 400 diesel buses by electric or natural gas vehicles and trolleybuses.

SLAT decided to support the initiatives of city of Lyon, where the company is located, by offering public transportation to its employees. Slat aims to make its business carbon neutral by 2025, through its NetZero program. Employees commuting to the company premises represent a very significant cost in SLAT carbon emissions.
Already converted to intensive teleworking, it was still to process the journeys of employees who have to go on site for working.
Starting March, Slat fully reimburses tickets and transit pass of its employees who come to the company by train, bus, tram… These transportation modes allow to reduce the carbon footprint per travelled kilometer by a factor of 2 to 10.
